CASCADA captures the mystery of endlessly flowing water, through porcelain 'motion capture'.
CASCADA leaves are created by pouring liquid porcelain slip on to specially made plaster moulds, capturing fluid motion in ceramic form. Every leaf is poured individually; the angle of the mould, the gravity of the liquid porcelain and the mix of oxides combine to make each one unique. Fired just once at 1260°C, the porcelain develops its own inherent lustre and translucency, eliminating the need for a glaze.

CASCADA room divider
Seventy-two lustrous, translucent Parian porcelain leaves are suspended within a freestanding, sculptural room divider, creating captivating shadows and diffuse light. Tiny quantities of oxides are mixed with the liquid porcelain to create subtle shifts and washes of colour. Choose from a shimmering array of tints. The hinged screen frame is available in Scottish ash or oak, in a washed white or in black.
Exploratory discussions welcome.

CASCADA Phase Transition
Phase Transition is a large floor standing porcelain ring made up of 16 individual pieces, when installed nearly 2m diameter.
The title refers to the polar pulls between the states of liquid and solid. The making process involves liquid porcelain poured over specially made plaster moulds, to create an unrepeated and unrepeatable movement.
To enable the fabrication of curved, self-supporting structures, specially made cast refractory concrete structures support the porcelain in the kiln during firing.
