EARTHBOUND

Works made from slip-cast porcelain combined in the mould with quantities of steel needles, cut and altered once unmoulded. Together, the porcelain and the steel create a strong bond. Yet in the heat of the kiln, they repel and shrink, causing myriad fissures and fractures across the body of the clay. An expression of the push-pull conflict of materials and processes, mirroring the constant negotiation within the earth of geomagnetism, radiation and geological activity.
