I'm very happy to have work in this exhibition at Kirkcudbright Galleries.
Open until June, it promises to be a varied and interesting show.
'Common Ground: The Living Landscape is an exhibition that brings together artists and makers whose work speaks to our deep, evolving relationship with Scotland’s natural environment. Through objects, images, and installations, it explores how creativity can reflect, honour, celebrate and reimagine the interconnectivity of Art and Nature.'

Dec 25: I spent another few days in north Wales with Ed Bentley for some more mould making training. This time we focused on lathe turning simple shapes, and the basics of mould making. Another fantastic training, with tonnes of learning and new horizons opened up.
I'm grateful for a VACMA bursary which enabled me to undertake this activity.

The participatory schools project I devised for Upland is underway again. Ceramicists Clare Dawdry and Ruth Jones joined me in my studio to learn about the workshop, and now they are delivering it in the central and eastern part of the region, while I focus on the western areas.
It's great to get back in the classroom with the enthusiastic P6 & 7s. More to follow on the venue for the FLOCK installation in May 2026.

I took a trip to glorious North Wales to work one-2-one with Ed Bentley on my plaster model and mouldmaking skills. We made a shape based on a Dupin cyclide - which has been floating around in my brain and sketch books for years. To make the model, we used all of Ed's machinery, and tools, as well as his deep expertise and ingenuity. It was great to experience lathe turning, using the electric whirler, sledging and all the stages of hand working. I'm very grateful to Ed for his patient teaching, problem solving, and generous sharing of skills and knowledge.
I'm also very grateful to a-n. This activity was supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company.

I'm delighted to have been selected again for Spring Fling, the vibrant visual art and craft open studios event covering the length and breadth of Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland.
Every year selected professional artists and makers throw open the doors of their studios over the late May Bank Holiday weekend. Visitors can get behind the scenes of artistic practice, experience artists and makers demonstrating and explaining their processes and inspirations, and have the opportunity to buy a piece of art direct from the maker.

Studio open 10am -5.30pm daily 24-26 May
