Sorbie Village Hall
£25 per pumpkin
Come along and make a fabulous Halloween pumpkin you can use year after year! Pumpkins made at this workshop will be fired and ready for collection for your spooky celebrations.
During this session I'll take you step-by-step through pinching and coil buildng a pumpkin lantern from clay, then cutting out holes ready to illuminate it with a tealight. Pumpkins will be built from terracotta earthenware clay, which is naturally a lovely pumpkin-y orange when fired. After the session, I take the pumpkins back to my workshop, allow them to dry and then fire them to 1100°C. Once they’ve cooled, you come and pick up your pumpkin.
Included: expert tuition, all terracotta clay and materials, equipment and kiln firing
Just come along with short fingernails and an apron or old shirt.
Suitable for adults. Suitable for children as follows: Ages 11 and up can normally build their own pumpkins. Ages up to 11 will need their adult’s help to complete the pumpkin in the time frame. An adult helping a child is unlikely to have time to also build their own (a second) pumpkin. Please book for the number of pumpkins you’re building. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult – please see T&Cs.
Booking will be via a payment link I will send you direct from my bank – this means I can cut out the payment fees involved in using a booking platform. If fewer than 10 pumpkins are booked for this workshop, I won’t be able to go ahead. In the event of cancellation, you will be refunded in full. Please tell your friends, family and neighbours - let’s make it happen!
To book please click on the button below, which will open a link to send me an email from you - I'll respond with a payment link. If you have any questions, you can also contact me via the button below.
Pop-Up Pottery is available to book for community groups, parties and other events. I bring all the clay, tools and equipment to you. Sessions are tailored to your group. After our session, I take everything away and the work is dried back at my studio. It's biscuit fired, finished with a clear glossy glaze, and given a final firing. The work is then delivered back to you or available for collection. Prices start at £25 per person for groups of six or more. Join the mailing list to be notified when new workshops are listed. Yay for clay!
